How to Fix an Acer Disk Read Error

The Acer series of netbooks are generally well-known for their portability and low price point. However, no matter how feature-packed these little machines are, if you encounter a disk read error, your operating system will not load correctly and you will have difficulty performing the most basic functions on your computer. However, Acer computers contain an auto-recovery function that can rewrite your hard disk and prevent disk read errors from persisting.

Instructions

Boot the computer and wait for the Acer logo to show up. Then immediately press the "Alt" and "F10" buttons at the same time.

Enter the recovery module. This utility will allow you to perform disk repairs through the Windows automatic recovery system.

Select the most recent date from the recovery list, and then press "Enter." The computer will revert your operating system to its condition on the date of the restore point. If you still see disk errors, repeat the process and restore to an earlier date.
